World of Blessings [WIP]

Fye's powers emerged long before her Naming, the child that was called Amber found herself surrounded by a ring of fire where there was once a ring of clover. Perhaps it had been the fault of her older brother, teasing her about her crush on a Earth Blessed who was kind to her in school. Frose—an Ice/Snow Blessed—was always teasing her on a multitude of subjects, from her hair to her clothes which were just hand-me-downs of his altered to fit a girl to how she chose to try and make her speech sound less "country". One moment she was searching the patch for four-leaf clovers, then flames three feet high for a few seconds before suddenly a snowbank blanketing her and the ring in the middle of summer.

So her childhood ended at the ripe age of 8, Amber was no more and Fye was who stepped out of the Naming Circle that evening. That night she spent in tears; dreams of burying her face in flowers, a larder full of food she'd grown herself, and a home smelling of fresh cut pine all burst into flame. Sure, she could enjoy all of those things without the aid of her Blessing, but it didn't fit into the plans made by an 8 year old. Not to mention the wrench it'd thrown into her Shadow and Water Blessed parents' plans of matching her to another Shadow Blessed lad, hoping to throw her Blessing that way. If she had likened to him, anyway, and they didn't know of her fondness for the Earthen boy.

But Blessings rarely went the way that others planned them.

Blessings have been around since the earliest days of their people, very few Blessed are able to pull of Great Works. Mostly everyone seems to be at the same levels of abilities; and while one Blessing might be able to combine strength and skills with one of another Blessing, multiples of the same sort never seem to do more than their individual abilities allow. One's heritage never dictates what kind of Blessing you'll find yourself with, two Light Blessed might turn out a Time Blessed. You might find your Blessing early or late, though it is unusual, but there's one thing for sure...

No one has ever gone past the age of 18 without receiving their Blessing. Everyone is Blessed.

1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy? Fye is slightly taller than the average woman, coming in at 5'8 and given the time period is almost waif-like but a little bit healthier than that. She has a good amount of muscles to do the typical chores of a medieval time period for a commoner. (Chopping wood, hefting pails of water, etc)

2. How old is she? She's currently 28, she was born on the hottest day of summer in remembrance. Should've been a clue, honestly, about her Blessing. It was also the summer solstice for the year, June 21st for our calendar.

3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch? One thing Fye tries not to do is draw attention to herself and her height already does that. So she doesn't quite...slouch per say as she draws her shoulders inwards, and ducks her head. But as she's spent more time alone out in the woods she's started walking and carrying herself in a more natural way, there's no reason to hide that part of her in the woods.

4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Picture of perfect health~ Though she's possibly got high-blood pressure due to the fire nature of Blessing.

5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Tensely. Almost timidly. As if she's afraid of setting a trail of fire behind her. But she's not jumpy, unless startled, because the last thing you want to be as Fire Blessed is jumpy. She holds herself in absolute control if around people. Out in the Ever Forest she's been able to slightly relax this.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? Quite lovely, honestly. Not what you would call mousy or plain. She's got a quiet beauty that doesn't bring attention to itself. It grows on you the longer you're around her. However, she's of the viewpoint that she's very mousy.

7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Clear for the most part, she's absolutely covered in freckles however. There's also a small burn scar just below her left earlobe from one of the fire blossoms that floated around her early in her Blessing's days.

8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style. It falls just under her bust, an auburn color on just a slightly cool side. Still plenty warm in color. It doesn't curl in tight coils so much as it just pleasantly waves. She tends to pull it up into a bun to keep it out of the way, only leaving it down when it's drying from the wash.

9. What color are her eyes? A clear sort of green that almost looks like a crystal, but like crystals she's got flecks of brown and gold in her eyes.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Aside from the various burns elsewhere on her body, freckles, and height....not really?

11. What are her chief tension centers? She carries a lot of her tension in her hands, curled tightly more often than not as she tries to keep control. And the back of her neck/tops of her shoulders, just really...from holding herself tightly.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit? X or X but more neutral colors like greens and browns, her two dresses and apron are rather frayed and worn. They could use a good patching, that's for sure. She's got a robe/dressing gown that she'll cover her chemise with if she's not quite ready to get dressed for the day or is getting ready for bed.

13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? They're definitely not the hand-me-downs she used to wear that were her brother's tunics. But she's definitely due for new clothing, not from them being too worn—though it's a factor—since there's a fair bit of ankle and wrist showing. Boots are getting a little threadbare but she's trying to go barefoot more often than not.

14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences? She wears the apron for chores but most of the time it's just the dresses on their own.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Uh...proper undergarments of the time probably? She's got her drawers on, living alone or not!!!
